INTRODUCING MATT, FOUNDER OF RESTART TUITION
Hi, I’m Matt – the founder of Restart Tuition. I’m passionate about the transformative power of education and believe every young person deserves the chance to succeed with the right support.
My journey in education began back in 2012 as a learning support practitioner. By 2015, I qualified as a teacher, specialising in Maths across GCSE, Functional Skills, Common Entrance, and iGCSE. I later became Head of English and Maths at my local college, where I focused on helping learners gain the qualifications they needed to move forward with confidence.
Since 2015, I’ve also been supporting students privately as “Matt the Maths Tutor,” primarily working with secondary school students preparing for GCSEs. After the pandemic, I noticed a growing gap—not just in knowledge, but in confidence. Many young people needed something different: smaller groups, more personalised attention, and an environment where they could rebuild belief in themselves.
That’s what led me to launch Restart Tuition in 2023.
I believe too many students miss out on essential qualifications—not because they can’t achieve them, but because they lose confidence along the way. Restart Tuition was created to change that. We work with qualified teachers to offer high-quality, flexible tutoring—helping families support their children in building skills, confidence, and momentum.
I’m proud to support learners both locally in Yeovil and online, and I’m committed to helping each student take positive steps forward in their educational journey.
